  I visited a tag meeting  at Z P school, Vani ( Girls) Tal- Dindori Dist –Nashik today on 16th Sep. Mr Deokumar Jadhav conducted TAG- NAS058.
Review :-  He started the tag meeting sharply at 8.00 am with a  warmer.  Teachers sat on benches in  ‘U’ shape. He asked few questions to take review of previous meeting . Many teachers shared their experiences. I was happy to see teachers talking in English.  Most of them were looking confident.
Deokumar ended this section within half an hour.
Language Development :-   Teachers selected a topic ,’There’s a train every hour.’ They practised  and engaged in given ativities. ‘1 How far is…..?  2 When is the next bus ? 3 Is there any train to…..?  This useful language was practised .Teachers were put into pairs and conducted role play . In this activity all the teachers practised dialogues.
Tag C took reflection by asking teachers to write answers and share with peers. Everyone was engaged and given chance to speak . This section was concluded at 9:10.
 Learning by watching :- chain drill activity
 There was not a computer and projector in the classroom ,but Tag c showed the video clip on smart phone.
Asked few questions on video clip. Before showing the clip ,he  took introduction on chain drill  and  had before watching by asking ,” Do you use drills and repetition in your class ? How and why ?
Some teachers responded.
All the teachers enjoyed chain drill activity. They solved exercises given in recourse book. By the end of this section TAG c conducted chain drill activity with the help of given questions. Two teachers also performed .
This section started at 9:10 and ended at 9:55, 10 to 15 minutes break was given meanwhile.
Reflection and Action plan :-
 Teachers wrote answers individually and shared their views with others. Tag C motivated and encouraged teachers to talk in English.They were confident and gave many ideas about how they will conduct activities in classroom.
 Mr Ramdas Hyalij ( Cluster head) came and encouraged teachers to attend tag regularly. He also had discussion with every teacher and took review about present and absent teachers. He ensured me to keep visiting tag and tag teachers’ classes as well.
 As it took much time ,so TAG c couldn’t continue the Learning by reading section.

TAG Coordinator-
1.      Positive things
·         Very energetic person.
·         Good fluency
·         Encouraged , motivated and praised teachers throughout the tag meeting.
·         Never talked with me  about any challenge for rolling out tag
·         Self motivated person
·         Good rapport with teachers
·         Nice facilitation
·         Excellent time management
·         Used board to highlight main points
2.      Things need to be developed
·         Think about high TTT and less PTT
·         Motivate one or two teachers to facilitate tag as they have capacity to conduct tag
·         Put teachers in groups too.
·         Give chance teachers to present where it is necessary

What I did as a SARP –
A.      Observed TAG unobtrusively
B.      When  TAG C was dealing with a  problem related to the laptop as it was not working,
I facilitated 2 mins. I gave one chain drill activity using one question that was already been practised….
How far is Kalwan from Vani ?
It is about 32 kms.
This question and answer were drilled by 14 teachers .
C.      Had discussion with teachers. Motivated them to conduct activities in the classrooms, too and share on whats app.
D.     I asked few questions to know whether they like TAG,what new things they are learning ,are they speaking in English .
Everyone is of the opinion that TAGs are very useful for their improvement.
One teacher said that due to the impact of tag meetings 80 % children in his class are in pragat in baseline English test . The same condition is in each tag teachers’ classes .
E.       I told them that next time I will visit two classrooms and observe how your children are practicing English.  I also find out 2 persons who can facilitate tag very well and requested Mr Deokumar to give them opportunity to roll out tag.

F.        I gave feedback to tag c and asked him to assess himself about the tag. I suggested two or three things.

After all it was nice experience to observe TAG meeting and talking with TAG c and teachers.  I also talked about a lesson plan and board work. That I will observe when I will visit 2 teachers classes.
