TAG observation (8/7/2017)

Today I visited and observed NAS 115 tag conducted by Pratiksha Gaikawad.
Venue-ZP School,Ojhar Township.
Kendrapramukh-Shrimati Nutan Pawar
Tag C started at 8 am with a warmer and ended at 11:30am having a break of 30 minutes.
She covered all the sections .
22 participants were present .
Teachers enjoyed introducing themselves and others with adding adjective. For Exa..
1 .I am Neat Nutan.
2. She is neat Nutan and I am versatile Vandana.......others continued like this.

💙It was a memory game and all the participants stood in a circle and tried to recall others names with adjectives. Also it was challenging for them to find adjective with the same letter of their first name.
But everyone enjoyed this.
💚Tag teachers supported each other. It was a nice example of cooperation and collaboration.
It took 18 minutes.
It should be spent only 10 minutes.
➡Review was conducted by asking few questions on Tejas and Tag.
Teachers responded appropriately.
💜Language development ...(8:30-9:15)
Tag C gave freedom to teachers to select the topic.
Teachers selected -
Giving personal information
Pratiksha gave clear instructions.
gave time to go through the questions.
Put the participants in a group.
Motivated to practise conversation in pair.
Teachers demonstrated in front of the class.
Other pairs also presented a role play activity of customer and receptionist.
Teachers practised following questions.
What's your name ?
And How do you spell that?
💚Tag c appreciated and praised the trs.She gave more chance to teachers to speak.
💜In Let's practise...
Teachers prepared simple questions.
And mingled and asked questions to get the answers.
Some pairs introduced each other in front of the class.
For Exa...
She is Nilam.She is from Nashik.She works at Z P school,Dixy........Her favourite dish...favourite sport...
Teachers also enjoyed this very much.
💙Teachers found difficult to reflect on given questions. Only 2 teachers answer appropriately.
Teachers should be put in group to work on reflection questions instead of giving task individually.
❤Think about time management.
💜Learning by reading
(9:15-9:45)
Teachers chose a topic. They were put in groups by counting numbers.
They allotted themselves roles of
1.initiator (who introduces topic and nominates other to read text )
2.the discussion director
( asks questions about the text after each para )
3.The involver (who encourages to give ideas and opinions on text )
4.The vocabulary enricher (answers on vocabulary)
5.The summariser
( summarises on the topic )
Tag C elaborated the roles as it was new for teachers.
Teachers selected English in the classroom.
They read and discussed.
Also learnt new vocabulary like exaggerate.

  • Teachers found this section quite challenging.

But Tag c managed the tempo of tag and completed on time .

💜Learning by watching
(10:30-11:00)
Clip 6 Chain drill
Pratiksha introduced the word chain drill...
Also conducted a short activity to show an example of chain drilling.
A video clip was shown on PC twice.
Teachers enjoyed and reflected on this activity.
One teacher ..Dhaneshwari conducted an activity after watching this clip. She used ..." What's your favourite colour ?"
She put the participants in a circle and practised chain drill activity.
