Spoken English 2017

Spoken English training is going at SIEM,aurangabad from 18th Aug to 22nd Aug.At the beginning a core team was formed .It included members of board study ,  subject assistants , all the SARPs of RAA ,Aurangabad. We also got the help of Authorities of DIECPDs . Many contributors gave their valuable inputs while framing this module.Teachers from spoken English who had performed better in last year had been invited to provide inputs.All gave their inputs in 3 workshops. We also like to acknowledge some experts who built our material concrete and they are Mrs Geeta Unnithan , Mrs Bhagvat , Dr Lubna and Dr Shaikh sir.
The SARPs of Aurangabad took great initiatives to make the module best.
We 4 persons at last gave final touches for the spoken module. Mr. Dr Ujjwal Karwande , Mr.Nissar, Mr Zubair Quazi and me took great efforts to prepare this module in July to August.20 sessions have been designed and each session is for 90 min. 

There are warmers,demonstrative activities ,presentations by participants,reflections and adaptations,sharing,grouping and lots of funful ways. It's our first effort. My goal was to work harder for material development and learn to design material. I was very frustrated at the beginning ,but gradually my confidence increased . It is a hurculean task.  If our mind is strong and we work hard with preparation,planning and practice , we can achieve anything. I learnt this. To set a goal and to work to achieve the goal is real satisfaction.

On the first day of training I was  feeling very nervous. It was like a student  appearing for the exam.  However, our efforts come into success. My session was was quite good. It received good apreciation by the particiapnts. I was successful to use audio-video clips, putting participants in group,pairs,in rows. I motivated them to engage and reflect.My TTT was nearabout 40 percent and they talked a lot. I used laptop and projector. i also used ppt presentation.

 All the state level trainees those whom we have selected proved the best. We delivered each session into 2 participants. They are preparing and facilitating the sessions in a well manner. We all 4 are working as mentors. We are guiding them before they conduct a session.  Everyone is confident,fluent and somehow accurate speaker. Very enjoyable atmosphere.  We receive feedback online as we have provided a link and google form . After every session we get feedback and come to know what should be changed. Many things are in the module that is necessary to be changed . Actually this is a try out. We will think about the changes too. We must think about time management. Every session is for 90 min. But it is going beyond time limit. And running till 2 or more than 2 hours. So it is our duty to manage the time or reduce some sessions or reduce some activities from each sessions. We should also control our TTT as a facilitator. And should manage where to stop and where should give time.

Reflection at every stage is not necessary. And adaptation should be given time to discuss. We are also thinking to include functional grammar. 

Using ICT techniques like QR codes, google links, You tube videos, padlet link and use of smartphone for learning and sharing...all these things are working very well. Everything for us is very motivational and We are thinking this should be very useful for the teachers of Maharashtra. Every child deserves for the best. Our aim is to impart quality ducation to all. Each and every child can learn. Every child can speak English if teachers are motivated and engaged and strengthened in speaking English. We have been learning and teaching English for many years . But we are not getting results. Teachers still can not speak English very easily. They all fumble for the words and sentences. We are able to read and write ,but we are unable to speak English fluently. 

Bal Gangadhar Tilak Had said " Swaraj is my birth right and I shall have it."   Hon. Nandkumar sir says ," Making mistakes is our birth right ,but we will learn to speak English ."

Yes , our teachers will be fluent in English very soon. And the day is not so long. We will achieve this target within an year. If teachers are scaffolded ,if they are motivated , if they are made stronger in English ,automatically they will strengthen students. Strengthening of teachers is the strengthening of children. We have a vision of strengthening maharashtra. And we will make it soon .

 Our target is not to assess the teachers speaking English for their personal purpose ,but our target is our children of Maharashtra studying in local government schools should speak English . When they will speak English ,when they will understand what their teachers are speaking in English ,when they will make simple sentences on very easy situations, our goal will come into existence.

 I hope this spoken English programme will fulfill the need of teachers of Maharashtra and will bring changes in the life of students. parents will be satisfied and they will take out  their children from English medium schools. And they will put their wards in marathi schools where English can be taught easily.
