School visit 11/09/2017
Baseline English Test...
Today I visited Z p primary school, Dari.Tal/Dist Nashik.This school is upto 4th std.125 students out of 128 were present.All the 5 teachers were also present.Students from 3rd and 4th std were engaged in baseline English test.Teachers were conducting exam according to the instructions.
Mr Bhimrao Gangurde sir was conducting 3rd std English Test.While Jayshree Bartakke and Monika Sali were taking 4th Std exam.
Children enjoyed to be examined by teachers and me.
Students find difficult a little bit but they said paper was easy.I asked one question related to announcement.Very few students raised their hands to answer.Because announcement was related to railway station and only one or two students had visited railway platform.So it find difficult due to not related to their background.
But I insisted teachers if computer and projector are available , you must show them such things which are unknown to students.
Listening and finding answers or speaking basic English is really tough for the students as well as teachers.
Students can easily write numbers but writing spelling of kite,parrot and fish is very difficult for them.
Writing middle letter or writing last letters ..these questions they enjoyed.
Teachers are bothered about online marks filling and getting their students above 75 % or 60 %.
They can't understand the difference between these 75 and 60.
I took out GR of 14th July.
Read in front of them.
Discussed for half an hour.
Supported them.
Counseled over the unexpected fear.
Mentored .
Also facilitated how to conduct exam by taking 2 or 3 students exam by calling them near from each class.
It was a great experience.
Students also enjoyed a lot and teachers felt happy to be visited by some official from DIECPD.
