Spoken English ….One step towards speaking English fluently and confidently
Regional Level Spoken English 5 days training has been been
started across Maharashtra at 5 places…Nagpur, Nashik, Amravati, Aurangabad and
Lonawala.
Spoken English is
very innovative programme of Maharashtra government. To create positive atmosphere of English among primary teachers ,
to improve teachers’ classroom practices
in spoken English, to enable learners to speak English fluently and confidently
inside and outside the classroom, to provide teachers ongoing and online
support through social media like twitter, facebook,whats app and through face
to face 5 days training . These are some key features of this programme. 40
statelevel selected English language Ambassadors and all the English Subject Assistants (ESAs)working at DIECPDs have been trained at
RAA, Aurangabad. Now 816 ELAs (English Langauge Ambassadors) will be trained during
21st to 25th Nov and they will cascade training at block
level throughout Maharashtra.
Today this training
was successfully began in Nashik on 21st Nov at Mahaveer Engineering college , Nashik , a beautiful and peaceful place
with a natural surrounding . Hon. Ravindra jawale sir ( Dy. Dir. RAA, Nashik )
Inaugurated the programme. Mr.Yogesh Sonawane (Sr. lec.DIECPD, Nashik) was also
present for the inauguration ceremony. At the beginning Mr. Jawale sir welcomed
all the trainees and felicitated all 12 RPs.Mr. Pramod Gangawane Sir (SARP)and
Mr. Surendra Karawande ( SARP) from RAA, A’bad were being felicitated by Jawale Sir. They will
work as observer for the better management of training. All Rps were
felicitated by giving roses (Ashok Chavan, Zubair Quazi,Sandeep Patil,Tushar
mahale,Manish Rajput, Jyoti Patil, Harsha Chavan, Manasi Bhosale, Suyog Dixit,
Vishal Sonavane, Vijay Sawant and Gauri Sawant).Dr Neha Shirore is coordinating
training. She was also praised by Mr. jawale sir. Mr. Kiran Kedar ( Sub.
Assistant,DIECPD,Nashik) anchored felicitation ceremony.Mr. R.L.Jawale sir interacted
with the participants.” All should work as collective responsibility to succeed
this programme. After this training
teachers must give 150 % at blocklevel.” He motivated and encouraged the
participants. Mr. Surendra Sir gave vote of thanks to Mr Jawale sir for the
better management and good arrangement.Mr Shailesh Dakhane sir,Mrs.Mandlik
Madam, Mr Santosh Gaikawad sir and Mr Prashant Shewale sir were present from
RAA and DIECPD.
Trainees from 8 districts have participated , including
Nashik, Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Mumbai, Thane, palghar and Raigad. Trainees
will halt at Rahi hotel, Peth naka, Opp. To Bhaktidham temple. 195 trainees are expected to attend this SE. workshop ,but on
the 1st day 130 to 140 teachers joined by the afternoon. 3 buses are available to carry teachers from
Rahi hotel to training centre which is approximately 10km away from the main
city.
12 Resource persons
will cascade in 5 classrooms.Classrooms are spacious having good sitting
arrangements. Each class has projector and laptop. Participants seemed to be
very happy as they received Spoken English sack and other material.
Today Participants were introduced with Introduction of
Spoken English training, Ear training, Error
correction and Adaptation sessions. Teachers enjoyed and took part actively in
many activities like find someone who, expectations of training, classroom
contract,an onion ring, hearing and watching audio and video clips, finding
faults in given picture and knowing more about minimal pair.
Teachers also got an idea about errors and mistakes.
Errors occur when learners produce incorrect language
without knowing correct form.
And mistakes take place when learners know the correct
form ,but they still produce incorrect language.
“Learning new concepts and new terminology was the best
experience of day one.” Many teachers reflected on day 1.
The trainees who were not able to attend the training due to some
reasons, they were telephoned and being asked to attend or replaced by day
tomorrow.
Whole management team was working rigorously to make the
training successful. A word of thank goes to Neha mam, Kiran sir, Pramod sir,
Surendra sir, Dakhane sir,Mandlik mam and all the respected RPs. Thanks and
